Synopsis

In 1930s, Qiao Shan, whose code name was civet cat, was a member of certain information station of the Communist Party in Shanghai. With the help of Gu Fangwen and Gu Wenya, the members of the information station, he knew Quan Yanghao coveted Dragon Gate and won the head Long Pusheng’s trust in the virtue of Quan’s inordinate ambition. Then he was mandated to go into the bureau of investigation and statistics of the military council and made full use of the contradiction between Xu Xianli who worked in Party Affairs Office of Kuo Ming Tang Central organization and Zheng Boqun who worked in Special Branch of Activist Association to mediate among Dragon Gate, Kuo Ming Tang and Japanese spy office. He made them hold one another and saved our important leaders. Meanwhile, he also fought the battles of wits and courage with Zhou Jiakun, a traitor. Besides, he safeguarded our underground organization in Shanghai, found and punished traitors. Finally, with the help of Long Baobao and Xu Dongcheng, his wife and frenemy respectively, Qiao Shan broke through blocks and went through nine tests of life and death to transport urgent arms and medicine to soviet areas. In order to safeguard organization, Qiao Shan supported counterattacks in these places and made special contribution in country’s liberation.
