The play was adapted from the pioneer company that a regiment and a row of the independent Cavalry Division in Xinjiang Military Region marched into Ali, Tibet. In 1950, in order to carry out the strategic policies of the Party Central Committee, marching into Tibet from President Mao and liberation of Tibet, a company of soldiers was early sent to Ali, Tibet by Xinjiang Military Region. They carried out the tasks about investigation and mobilization. On August 1, 1950, the pioneer company consisting of 136 persons from 7 nationalities including Han, Hui, Zang, Mongol, Xibe and Uyghur. Under the lead of Li Disan holding the general director and Party representative and Cao Hailin, the company commander, they set out from Yutian, Xinjiang to Ali. In the end, they successfully planted the red flag in Ali Plateau to peacefully free over 300 thousand square kilometers. They wrote a radiant majestic epic with heroic style.
