Grandma's Dumpling Restaurant, a great play about family ethics presented by S&C Pictures Co., Ltd. began to be shot in Chinese film base in Beijing, showing China’s changes and development of society and family over the past 40 years since the reform and opening up.

The play focuses on Jiang Guifang(played by Chen Xiaoyi), a mother who was laid off, and develops a story around her hard entrepreneurship. The dumpling restaurant always maintained the relationship of whole family during the ups and downs of 40 years. It’s worth mentioning that the setbacks never obliterated their love but deepened the emotions connecting them.
Three generations of a family display concentrated life across 40 years, which represents the story of not only the whole family but all the ordinary families in China as well. The play will show people the life from the reform and opening-up in 80s to the modern times, from which many people of 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s can find their memories.

He pointed out not only the connection between food and human beings, but the interpersonal relationship as well. The most importance in the play was whom you ate dumplings with. When the family gathered together after they experienced trials and hardships for 40 years, they realized that the best food in the world was grandma’s dumplings. A Competitive Work, Combining Three Generations of Old, Middle Aged and Youth Performers
Chen Xiaoyi will play a pivotal role in Grandma's Dumpling Restaurant after Remarriage of A Policewoman and Mother: Mulan. Jiang Guifang was a kind and bossy woman with strong mind and acuity. After her husband died in the cultural revolution, she raised up four children with different characteristics and also adopted a boy.
